Cosmetic Packaging Trends: Fully Plastic Tube Pumps Support Recyclability Goals
2026-01-27

As sustainability and premium user experience continue to shape cosmetic packaging development, fully recyclable dispensing solutions are gaining increasing attention. Recently, a new fully plastic tube pump dispensing system has been introduced to address recyclability requirements while maintaining high performance standards.

A key feature of this type of system is the replacement of traditional metal springs with plastic internal components, improving material compatibility and simplifying the recycling process. By eliminating mixed-material structures, the overall packaging design becomes more aligned with circular economy principles.
In terms of materials, the pump and tube are made from polyethylene (PE), while the cap can be produced using PE or polypropylene (PP)—all widely accepted recyclable plastics. Options using post-consumer recycled (PCR) materials are also available, allowing brands to increase recycled content where required. Tube manufacturing is supported through partnerships with established packaging suppliers, ensuring scalable and stable production.
Consumer research referenced by the manufacturer indicates that a majority of respondents perceive tube pump formats as more premium compared to traditional pump dispensers. This perception highlights the growing role of design and format in influencing product value beyond functionality.
From a performance perspective, the system offers smooth actuation, precise dosage control, and dispensing efficiency exceeding 95%, helping to reduce product waste. It is suitable for a wide range of applications, including skincare, sun care, makeup, and hair care, and is compatible with natural and preservative-free formulations.
